Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened ~ Dr. Seuss.
The sun will soon set on the Studio M Digital Art & Photography photoblog; a blog I created just shy of nine years ago in February 2010. Wait, not so fast... I could never turn my back on almost 10 years of photography, a great 8 years 11 months that has led me right here.
This is more about reorganization with a little bit of downsizing thrown in. I have not been very active on any of my sites in the last few months. Lots of reasons, but the one I keep coming back to is that I'm all over the place: Here (SmugMug), my blog (Wordpress), Etsy (my online shop), Social Media (Facebook, Instagram), and Flickr (two accounts there)... seems I'm missing one, but you get the idea. Trying to keep up with even just one of these takes precious time away from what I really want to be doing ~ creating!
The first course of action is to consolidate. I like it here on SmugMug, so I'm going to give it a whirl and see if I can get a blog up and running. Why do I need a blog you might ask? Actually, I've been asking myself that same question... a lot. I'm not much of a writer and it takes a lot of time to get my thoughts down, so many drafts, so many starts and stops, and I cannot begin to tell you how many posts I start and then just wind up deleting. So why? Well, because in some weird way it holds me accountable... to no one but myself. I've been blogging since I started this photographic journey and along the way I have watched my photography morph into an entirely different form of photography. It's kind of like a personal journal... and if anyone reading it takes something from it, what else could I ask for.
Technically, I have my fingers crossed that I can lead any followers from the Wordpress site here. As well as find a way to get any new followers. But for now, I'll just take it one photo at a time, one day... or month at time and so...
Until next time,
